Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) conference

The 2012 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) conference for financial institutions dealing with small and medium enterprises took place from July 18-20 at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza. ECOSWITCH representatives Mr. Wilson Baldonado and Mr. Lukas Stummer had the pleasure to join the last day of the conference.

It included speeches of CEO Ambassador Jesus P. Tambunting and Secretary of the Philippine Department of Finance, Cesar V. Purisima. Particularly CEO Tambunting highlighted the commitment of Plantersbank to a green future. He cited that more than a dozen of Plantersbank clients are also client of ECOSWITCH. Based on this common ground a fruitful partnership was established. During the presentation of Ambassador CEO Ambassador Jesus P. Tambunting the ECOSWITCH program was discussed as being a role model of Plantersbank’s involvement in the environmental sector.

Afterwards Sec. Cesar V. Purisima highlighted the need for the Philippines to continue working on a creative economy which intends to create jobs by enhancing the entrepreneurial spirit of Filipinos. The congress ended with a Question & Answer session of the speakers.
